It’s been a crazy long week after the amazing Dark Drafts festival last weekend. I’ll be doing a separate write up and post on that event later tonight and will share with everyone on my personal blog.
Major thanks to Kate, Kendra, all the Dark Drafts staff and to Tiffany Koplin and the Books of Horror crew for making this event happen! My authors, my team and I had a blast the entire weekend and cannot wait to go back!
I have much to do to get caught up, edits, finishing stories, writing two introductions, and a blurb and more so here's the update for this week and I'll be here working the day away!!
Black History Month
First of February so today kicks off Black History Month and I’m very excited to see all the amazing posts for fellow authors of color that will be happening this month.
I will be helping the Books of Horror group with a month-long celebration of interviews, spotlights, and more in their group on Facebook.
You will also find posts celebrating authors of color in my FB group all month long, special spotlights on the blog and more all throughout the month and all year long.
Here are a few authors that I highly suggest to get you started and that I hope you continue to read all year long!
Wrath James White
L. Marie Wood
Andre Duza
Michelle Renee Lane

WELCOME TO UNCOMFORTABLY DARK HORROR & BLOOD MOON!!
New and Next
ROADS TO RUIN by Brian Bowyer
Brian Bowyer’s Roads to Ruin released late last month and is doing well. This is a super-fast paced trilogy of novellas that are action-packed and dripping more blood than slaughterhouse walls. If fast action, creative kills, and extreme horror are your thing, be sure to grab this today from Amazon or Godless.

SUBJECT A by M Ennenbach
Next up for end of February, we have Subject A from M Ennenbach. This is a darkly beautiful re-imagining of the Alice in Wonderland story. If you have read any work from M Ennenbach, then you are familiar with his incredible prose, his creative imagery, and the sheer depths of emotions that he weaves into every piece. I am incredibly excited for this to be out. Look for the cover reveal this coming Wednesday along with the link to pre-order.
Review Team Stats for Jan. 2025
The review team is back at work reading and reviewing ARCs and new releases as fast as they can. Some books from late last year are still being read, please do not worry if we have not gotten to you yet. We stay backlogged but are doing our best to get through them all. I’m super proud of this team and all the time they volunteer to be a part of Uncomfortably Dark.
Total Books Read: 17
Total Pages Read: 3780
