SALES & KDP PAGE READS FOR THE LAST MONTH
Sales continue to work their way up month over month. For the last 30 days, HAVE A BLAST led our sales and orders, (including free promos), followed by SUBJECT A, NUBS, and CUCKOO.
Page reads stayed strong reaching over 15k for the month, and surpassing 40k in the last 90 days! TRANSFOMATION, CUCKOO, SHADOW MANOR, and HANK FLYNN, led the top of the page reads, however every single title that we have on KU experienced an uptick in page reads, which is awesome to see!
2025 - 2026 RELEASE SCHEDULE
Christina Pfeiffer and I were able to hold a couple great Zoom meetings with our new roster of authors last weekend! Everyone got to meet, introduce themselves, and hear what is coming next for their releases and for Uncomfortably Dark!
We did finalize the release schedule with all of them and will be releasing it soon to our readers. Christina is working on some great graphics that we can share for each quarter now so stay tuned. We will share those here as well as on our Patreon and social media!
In the immediate future, work is being done on the new covers for our first round of releases since we cannot promote very well without sharing awesome artwork! Bi-weekly introductions from the authors are being posted to our Patreon first and will be shared to here on our blog starting in May, leading up to the first of the summer releases.
For these next three months, you can expect to see new releases from Brian Bowyer, M Ennenbach, and Candace Nola, as well as the re-release of titles by Aaron Lebold and Mick Collins who are joining us as their new home since Gloom House will be temporarily taking a step away from publishing.
New & Next from Uncomfortably Dark
NEW
SUBJECT A
by M Ennenbach
You've heard the tale of Alice in Wonderland, but never quite like this. Alice has fallen down the rabbit hole, and nothing is as it seems in this strange world.
Welcome to Wonderland.
“Ennenbach is one of the most unique and talented voices in literature today. Every work is provocative with a sort of unusual wildness that is both captivating and suffused with a comforting sense of ‘otherness’ that I think so many of us crave...”—Megan Stockton, author of LOVELY, DARK, AND DEEP

FEARS TO FATHOM GAME REVIEW BY BESU TADESSE
Fears to Fathom is an episodic psychological horror game developed by indie
developer and publisher rayll. In each episode, you play as a different character retelling
their experiences with unknown forces over user-submitted Reddit stories. The stories
involve the character, generally a teenager or younger adult, placed in a vulnerable
situation with one or more “stalkers”, grayish humanoid entities that skulk around during
your character’s mundane routine until you are stalked by your “true” enemy, typically a
real person that terrorizes you.
Every episode feels like you have been transported into an alternate reality. The
controls are halting and the graphics are generally low-res as if you are playing inside a
VHS tape. This adds to the sense the potential dread from each person you interact
within every story. Each episode is short, but packed with tension from the very
beginning. Narration is provided in text with the grammatical errors that only a Reddit
story can provide. This adds to the authenticity of the experience and immerses you in
each story.
What really makes the game terrifying is its sound design and visual cues.
Characters wait in darkness or shuffle behind you, even as they don’t pose any threat.
The environment adds to the tension, with plenty of places for NPCs to creep near, and
there is very little information on each person’s intentions until it’s too late. Some
eventually become your allies, while others continue to torment you. When you’re
caught, the sound that emanates shakes your nerves, even when you know what’s
coming. Combined with their nondescript faces and jolting motions, everything about the
series makes for one of the most visceral horror experiences in gaming.
The first episode, “Home Alone”, which was released in July 2021, is available for
free on Steam. The other four chapters are available for purchase, both individually and
as a bundle, so if you like the game and have a strong nervous system, I highly
recommend giving the series a chance.
