Today's breakdown is for "Dr. Parasite" by Rowland Bercy Jr:
If Michael Crichton co-wrote The Hellbound Heart(Hellraiser), I think the result would resemble the Science driven, sickening tale that we have here. Brilliantly disgusting, I both lost and gained brain cells by reading this story. I couldn't stop flipping the pages as the unraveling went madder and madder and finally concluded on a note of satisfaction that included two perfect epilogues. Packed full of sex, bodily fluids, meat consumption and creepy crawlers; if you enjoyed Cronenberg's The Fly, I think this one will deliver for you! I put Bercy Jr off for a long time awaiting the book that felt right, and this was definitely the correct choice. I can't wait to read another one from the raving mind of Rowland, a standout writer for sure. Though he may be fit for a straitjacket, he's a name to keep an eye on because he's write where he belongs.
