Today's breakdown is for the audiobook of "Welcome To Scareville" by John Ward:
This was a enjoyable coming of age tale that had Needful Things/Nightmare On Elm Street vibes. Meant for younger readers, I thought that Ward did a good job of serving up an introduction to Horror for children. I will gladly be checking out the Scareville series as a whole in the near future. I think John's writing delivers what it needs to for the intended audience. Also, as a guy from Ohio, love that it was set in Lakewood.
The audio portion of this was narrated by Dylan J. Holt who I thought did a fantastic job of bringing this story to life. I definitely think that the author chose the correct person for the job and the two together felt very natural.
5/5 stars.
