Today's breakdown is for "Pedo Island Bloodbath" by Duncan Ralston:
I'll be the first to admit that the title had me leery of what I'd find going in, but I found it mostly tame when it came to the dark aspects of what the first word in the title entails, to which I am most grateful for. Going in, I had no clue this was a Vampire story, but I found it a very unique spin on the classic trope. I even reunited with a few pop culture characters that I've not read about since I read Stoker's Dracula in middle school, so that was pretty neat for me personally. I really loved the ending and felt that the Bloodbath paid off nicely. This was my first Ralston experience, surely not my last though, I found his writing skills superb. I even caught myself laughing out loud, a rare occasion for me when reading. Well done, Duncan!
4/5 stars.
