Today's breakdown is for "Conversations With Dead Serial Killers" by Ashley Lister:
A book contrived of brutality that also serves as a historical fiction about those notorious names in history. You can tell Lister did extensive research in true crime to write this one. It doesn't just follow a copy-cat murderer and his violent and accurate reimaginings, but it is a ghost story as well. With these layers in place, you get a gruesome tale that stays solidified until the end. This was my introduction to the work of Ashley, but it is a fine representation and I will definitely be returning to his work with high expectations.
If the details of real murders triggers you, this might not be an appropriate read for you. However, if you can stomach such things, I think this one will exquisitely suit your tastes.
4/5 stars.
