Today's review is Beta By Sammy Scott
I was by no means surprised to see Beta in the top 32 of the brawl this year. I predicted it might even come out on top. And it did! Congrats to Sammy Scott!
This book was took its time warming up but once the story took hold I was gripped til the very end. The characters, including Ezra and the house were really well written. They had depth and emotion (well, maybe not the house).
I was trying to figure out the twists and turns as things developed and surprised myself by at least being on the right track! This story is one of loneliness and isolation, grief and regret. I was buckled in and along for the ride.
The ending is my favourite part and, since no spoilers, you're going to have to read it to find out what happens...
