Welcome to weird Wednesday where we explore the darkest corners of the globe, searching for the mysterious and unknown.
Today’s search for a haunted location takes us to Horicon, WI and the Tallman Bunk Beds. 1987 was a good year for a lot of people, but not for everyone.
Enter the Tallman family: dad, Alan, a supervisor in a manufacturing facility. The mother, Debby, was a stay-at-home mom with three children. Their first mistake was purchasing a bunk bed from a thrift shop. A seemingly innocuous choice. They assembled the bed in their Wisconsin home and stored it in their basement.
Suddenly, all three kids became sicker than they had ever been. They moved the bunk bed into the kid’s bedroom and that’s when the fun started. Unexplained phenomenon like objects moving, radio stations changing, hallucinations, and premonitions were also common.
When their two-year-old daughter claimed to see a red-eyed witch standing next to her bed, the Tallman parents decided it was time to call in a holy official. The holy official told them to go to church more because that solves everything. This was his response after he told them that he felt the presence of something evil.
Things ramped up from there into full-on possession style cinema with the entity, causing Alan to hallucinate and to hear voices. Several times, the family and guests saw a being of some sort appear to them, each of them having terrifying reactions to what they saw.
The Tallman’s eventually wised up and destroyed the bunk beds, moved from the house, and lived happily ever after but most likely with some supernatural trauma attached. You can read about the event at the links below, and luckily, there is no need for rules today because the beds no longer exist.
Happy Hunting should you choose to roam!
